Destroy Lonely Concert Review

Destroy Lonely has once again killed another show here in Columbus. For my first show of the new year, he for sure started it off with a bang. Bringing his DJ and producer, Lil 88, they packed out The King of Clubs for an insane show. I already knew the turnout would be crazy because of the insane buzz Destroy Lonely has been getting lately. The promoters also knew how big the show would be by changing the venue from Skully’s to The King of Clubs.

As I was arriving at the venue, the line was long and everyone was wearing all black, which is the perfect attire for a Destroy Lonely show. The vibes with everyone were great. Scotty Hunter, a fellow MIC associate and viral interviewer, was outside interviewing everyone in line and giving them something to do while we waited for the doors to open.

Doors finally opened and before anyone came out to perform, moshpits were already forming due to how hyped everyone was. I’m pretty sure this would be just about everyone’s first show of the year to this caliber. Later, Lil 88 finally came out and performed a fantastic DJ set. He was very engaged with the fans and was very immersed in the crowd. He played songs like, “Beno!,” “Faneto,” and “New Tank,” which really had the crowd moving. After an extreme DJ set, Destroy Lonely came out about twenty minutes later and put on a wild show. The intros to his songs were incredible and super thoughtful, so people could catch their breath and form moshpits. The best songs that really had the crowd going wild were “BLITZ,” “NEVEREVER,” and “NOSTYLIST.”

The experience was definitely a 10/10. I bought some fire merch and another side note The King of Club’s fries are bussin’. I advise you to go to a Destroy Lonely show next time you get the chance.
