A fantastic showcase of talent comes from TeamBall Collective once again.

On Saturday, January 28th, Team Ball Collective presented Cellar at The Basement with a sold-out show. This moment is celebratory for many reasons, mainly because of the hurdles TeamBall had to overcome to make it happen. Following numerous memorable house shows, they received a cease and desist letter from their rental property that made the future uncertain. However, after this victorious show, they remain THE hub for young artists to grow their experience, exposure, and career.

Cellar at the Basement presented four bands - Lug Sol, FullSend, Dairy Family and Cellar Dwellar. Lug Sol grabbed the stage first with an inspiring message for the crowd.

“Our theme encapsulates love, we want you to leave all your troubles at the door and have a great time,” said the drummer of the band, Nate.

The show then kicked off with mellow and sweet-sounding music by Lug Sol. They provided sky-scraping moments during their performance with songs like “Stone Cold Love” and “Clueless”. With the intimacy of the venue, fans were able to see their favorite band up close and personal. One thing I appreciated most from Lug Sol is every musician had a moment to showcase their talents, with unforgettable solos from their saxophone musician Jesse and their drummer Nate. Lug Sol laid the groundwork for what the crowd already anticipated from the beginning - an amazing show.

Within minutes, FullSend raised the energy in the room with their songs "I Don't Mind" and "Do You Feel It?", which resonated throughout the venue. There was a strong sense of chemistry between the band members and everyone was clearly enjoying themselves. The party continued after this performance when Dairy Family, dressed in onesies, performed.  Their song “Funky Orange” engaged the crowd immediately. Band members were having a blast on stage, smiling, interacting with the crowd, and simply enjoying themselves.

To end this celebratory concert, the promoter of the event, Ted, introduced Cellar Dwellar with an emotional message. He explained how Cellar at the Basement transpired and expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the event. This night was filled with love and appreciation for all bands at the venue, and the crowd was ready to end the night on a high note! The final act, Cellar, took over the crowd and performed a stellar rendition of “Me and Your Mama (Let Me Into Your Heart” by Childish Gambino. The mosh pits and their lead singer jumping into the crowd laid the cherry on the cake and I honestly did not want the night to end.

Overall, Cellar at the Basement showcased raw talent and produced many great moments throughout the night. As a music lover, the performances from all bands mixed with the love and energy from the audience is a moment I’ll always remember. In spite of the cease and desist and uncertain circumstances, Team Ball Collective continues to provide a platform for Columbus talent to showcase their abilities.
